The game has been beat. After finding out everyones tragic backstory, Hiro figures out Ema isn't ACTUALLY a crazy bitch (who'd have thought...) and thanks to witchy powers goes back in time once more to awaken the real witch and sort this shit out. So you witchify everyone, summon the witch, listen to her tragic backstory, she cancels the curse, we all go home, warden teases the sequel.

Was a nice little mystery when all's said and done.

I suspected Meruru for 3 reasons, although I'll admit they were all pretty meta reasons. First she was the only character without a designated cellmate... which didn't actually come up in game but still. Second was that she was the tutorial character who would give ema hints on how to proceed; felt very mastermind-y. Third, she's the super innocent nice one, they usually end up doing something pretty fucked up.

I did not see that ending but it does sound funny.

So far I've been proven right. Nanoka was killer number 2 with Coco as the victim. Now we're onto victim 3 An-an, which obviously looks to have been done by Hiro (by accident). Kinda torn on how they're going to do this... either Ema's going to sacrifice herself and take the fall for Hiro's mistake, or it's all a misunderstanding and actually this is a really elaborate murder that makes Hiro think she killed someone when she actually didn't.

Haven't had quite as much time to play but I've made it to what I assume is the halfway point. Meruru's the mastermind (called that one from the start), but there's a bigger eviler witch living inside Ema who makes her kill Meruru before hopping off to eradicate the human race. Only for the game to reveal that Hiro has Zero Escape powers and can mind teleport back to when she was killed. At first I thought they were going to have her remember everything, as I assumed her power would have something to do with her pen that we were forced to carry around for all of Ema's story. But nope, I guess she only remembers the first 15 minutes of the game.

Still it is very neat since we now have a large amount of info about all the characters and as such can pick up on things Hiro can't. I did Hiro's first case which has Meruru getting killed by Margo (noooooo....). Which... has now made me realize that we're basically going to get all the "Taboos" that we didn't see the first time aren't we? So... the next murderers have to be Nanoka, Hana, and Noah right? I mean maybe one of them won't be and will instead reveal their taboo in a similar way to Miria. Could also see them pulling the twist of Hiro being a killer.

Sherry and Hanna are dead! Nooooo they were the fun ones!!

Anyways, I'm in the investigation of the next case, Alisa being the victim. Also Nanoka hasn't come back up from the freezer we found which is worrying... Kinda get the feeling her body is going to turn up and Ema's going to be suspect numero uno. We're down to just the last few girls... Ema, Coco, Margo, Meruru, and Nanoka down in Schrodinger's freezer. Gotta cling desperately to Margo and hope she doesn't die next.

Well it is basically Danganronpa minus the whole free time social link aspect, so I like it so far. First idol girl killed Banksy, and now the quiet sickly one killed girl whos actually a middle aged man, except actually she's not. The whole everyone having their own unique magic ability adding to the mystery is pretty cool. That being said, the trials feel veeerryy lenient, both in time and any sort of consequences for guessing wrong.

Oh Shuten Order, that's the one where you're a ghost or angel or something and have to figure out who killed you right? It's been on my radar ever since it came out but I've never gotten around to it for some reason.

Well I went ahead and got it. Played through a little bit, introduced a childhood friend character only to immediately kill her off. Aside from that we got Detective Girl, Gun Girl, Art Girl, Angry Punk Girl, Streamer Girl, Prince Girl, Smol Tsundere Girl, Quiet Girl, just straight up Mikan in a nun outfit, Mysterious Older Looking Girl, and Busty Gal Girl.

With childhood friend character seemingly hating our guts, I would not be surprised if we're going for a Danganronpa 2 twist, and our main character is also the main villain.

Hmm well as long as it isn't full of constant grammatical errors, then maybe I too will skip the wait and give it a try sometime soon.

Honestly I can't think of anything coming out in the near future. I'm also just waiting to inject that Fire Emblem right into my veins. I still haven't played Disgaea 7 so I doubt I'm ever going to try it's hack and slash spin off lol. I do hear 7 is supposed to be pretty solid but I dunno... 6 was so disappointing I can't really get motivated to buy it.

Yeah I feel ya, personally episodic games have never really bothered me all that much but I totally get why it turns a lot of people off. Still I'd say Deltarune has retained much of the Undertale fanbase and the episodic nature has only drawn in the crazy speculation crowd on top of it. When it does finally come out (probably gonna be in 2 years time roughly) I'd absolutely recommend giving it a go. Much like Undertale, its carried by strong writing, great characters, and a somewhat psychotic level of attention to detail.

Oh wow Magical Girl Witch Trials huh? I've been hearing people heaping praise on it for a while now but I assumed I was doomed to wait for an english translation that may never come. But if there is indeed a fan translation I may have to give it a go sometime as well. How good would you say the fan translation is?

Well with Deltarune chapter 5 finished up, and another year of waiting for the next resolution to THAT looming in the foreground, I went and got the new rhythm heaven game.

How's Rain Code been treating ya?

I would definitely say between it, Danganronpa and 100 line, it's the weakest of the 3. That being said, it's fine. It's got at least 1 solid twist, the characters are mostly pretty fun, and the rainy sort of noir setting is neat.

As for me I finished up Gnosia. You know now that I think on it, so many of the games I've played with visual novel elements seem to end up being about you and someone close to you trying to escape a time loop together.

Well I dunno if you've seen the box art for the game, but its got a white angel looking guy and girl front and centre (you saw them for a second or two in the trailer) that are almost certainly going to be the games version of Byleth. So the leading fan theory that I've seen floating around is that the game is going to be split into 2 parts like 3 houses. The first half will be the tournament arc where you play as whichever lord you choose, then the second half will be similar to the time skip from 3 houses and you get new self insert character to help you fight whatever new shadowy menace is threatening the world.

I only got Gnosia a little while ago and have been playing it here and there. I too am not great at figuring out who's lying and who isn't but it's been neat so far.

Although there's still no release date attached to that kingdom hearts trailer lol. Got any preference for which of the 4 lords to choose purely off of first impressions? I think I'm debating between ostrich kid and the bard.

And now we've finally gotten the actual date for the new Fire Emblem. Guess I finally dump a chunk of my savings into a switch 2 :\ Anyways super excited, can't wait.

Also a remaster of Tales of Eternia. Nice of bamco to remaster a tales of that actually needed it for once.

Well a bit after that initial leak the leaker did also reveal the logo, which was indeed spot on for the one we got. So I'd say it's quite likely the characters are the real deal at the very least. Not sure I'd throw much trust behind that thing about it coming out in september of next year though... even if it is true I wouldn't be surprised if the release ends up being delayed for whatever reason.

On a smaller but somewhat interesting note, apparently Cassette Beasts is getting a sequel.

Well, rumors abound that we'll be getting an official P6 reveal tomorrow. I'll believe it when I see it myself, but at the very least I imagine we'll get another look at P4R.

In other news, we're apparently getting a gundam game set in a whole new setting? Looks very hack and slash-y... and hard to say much more than that at this point. That being said, I'm all for some more non UC gundam products.
